People often ask me “Clint, I have the right products… but I still can’t get a professional look!” to which I reply, “But have you got the right brush?”

The difference between a professional, flawless make-up application and uneven, unnatural looking nightmare is often a matter of lack of tools!

Make-up brushes assure a higher quality of cosmetic application than just using the fingers.

The hairs and heads, and sometimes even the ergonomically designed handles of brushes are especially manufactured to meet professional standards and create different finishes.

Make-up brushes come in various sizes depending on the level of coverage needed. It is important to familiarise yourself with the different types before you apply make-up on yourself, or others.

Make-up artists deem it necessary to spend a small fortune on a set of quality brushes, but for those on a budget, I would recommend a good liquid and powder brush at the very least. If you go for quality over quantity, you will find one good brush will last for months and months!

Just remember to sanitise your brushes accordingly. If you are the only person using the brushes, you should clean your powder brush once a week, and your liquid brush ideally every day!
