What do YOU have in common with Cleopatra??

You both use mineral make-up!

Did you know mineral make-up first made its appearance during ancient Egyptian times?

Both men and women would use different natural elements, such as charcoal and lead to create a black paste to use as mascara and eyeliner to outline the eye and create the perfect almond or feline shape. And copper ore for that amazing green colour as eye shadow.

The cosmetic material had to be powdered on a palette and then this powder mixed with a liquid substance, to make the powder adhere to the eye.

Thankfully today we don’t have to pound and grind away to get our perfect shade of eye shadow!!!
