Q: In the summer months, I find that my skin is constantly breaking out. I do plenty of exercise and try to wash my face thoroughly afterwards but nothing seems to work. I also like to wear heavy foundation to the office and find myself having to apply more and more concealer to cover up my blemishes. Help!
A: This is a very common crisis for women all over so you’re not alone. The key is exfoliation to help keep your skin fresh and clear (but be careful to not remove half your face!). Using a gentle exfoliant like Nude by Nature Exfoliating Scrub daily will help slough away the congestion and prevent breakouts. The other key is the foundation you use. Using Nude by Nature MineralPowder (medium suits most complexions) will give you a flawless finish and maximum coverage while allowing your skin to breathe. Hence less break outs!
Q: I have hooded eyes and find it extremely difficult to apply eyeshadow. Do you have any tips?
A: This is one of the most tricky things to get right. The thing to do is use matte shadows and concentrate darker colours on the lid and take them just higher than normal so you can see them when your eye is open. This creates a false lid and gives the effect of contour. If you are wanting to create a smoky look or add more colour, try Nude by Night. Apply the darker colour to the lower lash line to create a visible and dramatic impact! Lots of mascara will open the eyes. Or think about keeping it simple with the eyes and going with a bold lip if all else fails.
Q: I am looking for a bright and bold lipstick to wear during the festive season. If I go red, how do I know what shade? What colour do you suggest?
A: I Love a Red Lip! It’s like the ultimate quick fix to instantly feeling sexy. But you’re right - the wrong red can go terribly wrong. If you have fair skin, use a lipstick with a blue base. If you have a more olive complexion use an orange base. (If you’re not down with the lingo, most good make-up assistants will be able to help you out!). For a less dramatic red, top it up with any of the gorgeous Nude lipglosses. Have fun and put on the pout!
